BRCL4054DME is a complete constant-current/constant-voltage linear charger for single-cell lithium-ion batteries, featuring battery reverse polarity protection. Its SOT23-5 package and minimal external component count make the BRCL4054DME an ideal choice for portable applications. In addition, the BRCL4054DME is specifically designed to operate within USB power specifications. No external sense resistor or blocking diode is required, thanks to its internal P-MOSFET architecture. Thermal feedback regulates the charge current to limit die temperature during high-power operation or elevated ambient temperatures. The charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V, and the charge current can be externally programmed via a single resistor. When the final float voltage is reached and the charge current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value, the BRCL4054DME automatically terminates the charge cycle. When the input power source (AC adapter or USB power) is removed, the BRCL4054DME automatically enters a low-current state, reducing battery drain current to less than 3μA. Additional features include a charge current monitor, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and two status pins for indicating charge and charge termination.
