BLUE ROCKET BRCL4056BSE

BRCL4056BSE is a complete CC/CV linear charger for single-cell lithium-ion batteries, featuring battery polarity reversal protection. Its ESOP-8 package and minimal external component count make the BRCL4056BSE ideally suited for portable applications. The BRCL4056BSE is compatible with both USB power and adapter power sources.

The internal PMOSFET architecture, combined with an anti-backflow circuit, eliminates the need for external sense resistors and blocking diodes. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charge current to limit die temperature during high-power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. The charge voltage is fixed at 4.20V, and the charge current can be programmed externally with a single resistor. When the battery reaches 4.20V, the charge current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value and the BRCL4056BSE automatically terminates the charge cycle.

When the input supply (AC adapter or USB power) is removed, the BRCL4056BSE automatically enters a low-current state, reducing battery drain current to below 3μA. Additional features include a charge current monitor, under-voltage lockout, automatic recharge, and two status pins to indicate charge termination and input voltage connection.
