Introduction
This CAN transceiver complies with the ISO1189-2 high-speed CAN (Controller Area Network) physical layer standard. Its data transmission rate in small CAN networks can reach over 1 Mbps, and it has a higher timing margin and data transmission rate in large, high-load networks. This device provides various protection features to improve the durability of the device and the CAN network. The SN65HVD257 device adds some new features to enable easy design of redundant and multi-topology networks with fault indication, thus allowing the CAN system to achieve a higher level of functional safety features.
