Introduction
This CAN transceiver family complies with the ISO1189-2 (2016) high-speed CAN physical layer standard. All devices are designed for CAN FD networks with data rates up to 2Mbps. Devices with a "G" suffix in the part number are designed for CAN FD networks with data rates up to 5Mbps, and devices with a "V" suffix in the part number feature an auxiliary supply input for I/O level shifting (used to set input pin thresholds and RXD output levels). The family offers a low-power standby mode with remote wake-up request capability. In addition, all devices incorporate numerous protection features to enhance device and CAN bus robustness.
Features
- AEC Q100: Compliant with automotive application standards and ISO11898-2 (2016) requirements
- "Turbo" CAN: All devices support 2Mbps CAN FD (Flexible Data Rate); devices with "G" suffix support 5Mbps
- Short and symmetrical propagation delay times with fast loop delay for enhanced timing margin, enabling higher data rates on loaded CAN networks
- I/O voltage range supports 3.3V and 5V MCUs
- Ideal passive behavior when unpowered: bus and logic pins in high-impedance state (no load); no glitches on bus and RXD output during power-up and power-down
- Protection features: HBM ESD protection: ±16kV; IEC ESD protection up to ±15kV; bus fault protection: ±58V (non-H variants) and ±70V (H variants); undervoltage lockout on VCC and VIO (V variants only) supply pins; driver dominant timeout (TXD DTO) — data rates down to 10kbps; thermal shutdown (TSD)
- Receiver common-mode input voltage: ±30V
- Typical loop delay: 110ns
- Junction temperature range: -55°C to 150°C
Applications
- All devices support high-load CAN networks
- Heavy machinery
- ISO11783 applications
- Automotive and transportation
