The TPS562209 and TPS563209 are easy-to-use 2A/3A synchronous step-down converters in a 6-pin SOT-23 package. These devices are optimized to operate with the fewest possible external components while achieving low standby current. These SMPS devices employ D-CAP2™ mode control to provide fast transient response and support low-ESR output capacitors such as specialty polymer capacitors and ultra-low ESR ceramic capacitors without external compensation components. The TPS562209 and TPS563209 always operate in continuous conduction mode, which reduces output ripple voltage under light load conditions compared to discontinuous conduction mode. The TPS56x209 is available in a 6-pin 1.6mm×2.9mm SOT (DDC) package with a junction temperature range of -40°C to 150°C. The TPS562209 and TPS563209 are 2-A and 3-A synchronous step-down converters, respectively. The proprietary D-CAP2™ mode control supports low ESR output capacitors such as specialty polymer capacitors and multi-layer ceramic capacitors without complex external compensation circuits. The fast transient response of D-CAP2™ mode control can reduce the output capacitance required to meet a specific level of performance.
