Introduction
TPL7407L is a high-voltage, high-current NMOS transistor array. The device contains 7 NMOS transistors with high-voltage outputs, featuring common-cathode clamp diodes for switching inductive loads. The maximum drain current rating for a single NMOS channel is 600mA. An enhanced voltage regulation and drive circuit provides maximum drive strength across the full GPIO range (1.8V - 5.0V). The transistors can be connected in parallel for higher current capability. The key advantage of the TPL7407L is its improved efficiency and lower leakage compared to bipolar Darlington devices. With a lower V_OL, power dissipation is reduced by half compared to conventional relay drivers at currents below 250mA per channel.
Features
- 600mA rated drain current (per channel)
- Pin-to-pin CMOS improvement over 7-channel Darlington array (e.g., ULN2003A)
- V_OL less than one-quarter of Darlington array at 100mA load current (ultra-low V_OL)
- Ultra-low output leakage less than 10nA per channel
- Extended ambient temperature range: Tₐ = -40°C to 125°C
- 40V high-voltage output
- Compatible with 1.8V to 5.0V MCU and logic interfaces
- Internal freewheeling diodes for inductive kickback protection
- Input pull-down resistors for tri-state input driver support
- Input RC snubber to suppress parasitic switching in noisy environments
- ESD protection exceeding JESD 22 specification requirements
- ±2kV HBM, 500V CDM
- Available in 16-pin SOIC and TSSOP packages
Applications
- Relay
- Single-pole stepper & brushed DC motor
- Solenoid & valve
- LED
- Logic level shifting
- Gate & IGBT drive
