Introduction
PMC251 is an IO-type, parallel-processing, fully static processor based on OTP for program storage. This processor has two processing units that can execute two programs in parallel. It also provides a single-core processing mode similar to traditional MCUs. It is based on the RISC architecture and uses the patented (Field Programmable Processor Array) technology. PMC251 can operate in the FPPA™ dual-core parallel processing architecture or the traditional single-core architecture. Most instruction execution times are one instruction cycle, and only a few instructions require two instruction cycles.
PMC251 has a built-in 1KW OTP program memory and 60 bytes of data memory for the two FPP units to work with. Additionally, PMC251 provides a 16-bit hardware counter. Common peripheral component functions, such as UART and PWM, can be easily implemented using the FPPA™ architecture.
