Introduction
SP6626HP is a current-mode PWM controller IC with an integrated power MOSFET. It operates at a fixed frequency in PWM mode, precisely set internally, while the switching frequency is adjusted internally under no-load or light-load conditions. The IC supports green mode operation to reduce light-load losses and improve overall efficiency. It requires only minimal current during startup and normal operation, allowing large resistors in the startup circuit to reduce standby power consumption. An integrated slope compensation circuit prevents sub-harmonic oscillation at high duty cycles and improves system stability. Built-in leading-edge blanking eliminates the influence of diode reverse recovery currents in snubber networks. Frequency dithering is employed to improve EMI performance, with the hopping frequency set above the audio range (20KHz) to avoid audible noise during operation. Multiple protection features are integrated, including cycle-by-cycle OCP, OLP, OVP, VDD overvoltage clamping, UVLO, and OTP. System EMI characteristics and switching soft-start control are enhanced through an internal totem-pole gate drive structure. Available in a lead-free DIP8 package.
