Introduction
The DRV8833C provides a dual-bridge motor driver solution for toys, printers, and other mechatronic applications. This device features two H-bridge drivers, capable of driving two DC brushed motors, a bipolar stepper motor, solenoids, or other inductive loads. Each H-bridge output includes a pair of N-channel and P-channel metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) and a circuit for regulating winding current. With proper printed circuit board (PCB) design, each H-bridge of the DRV8833C can continuously drive up to 700 mA RMS (or DC) (at 25°C with a 5V VM power supply). The device can support a peak current of up to 1A per H-bridge. At lower VM voltages, the current capability decreases slightly. When a fault occurs at the output pins, internal shutdown functions for overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, UVLO, and overheat protection are also provided. Additionally, a low-power sleep mode is available.

The DRV8833C can be powered with a supply voltage from 2.7 to 10.8 V and can provide an output current up to 700 mA RMS. A simple PWM interface allows easy interfacing to the controller circuit. The current regulation is a 20-μs fixed off-time slow decay. The device includes a low-power sleep mode, which lets the system save power when not driving the motor.
