HX4054A is a single-cell lithium-ion battery constant-current/constant-voltage linear charger. Its simple external application circuit makes it ideal for portable device applications, compatible with both USB power supply and adapter power supply. An internal reverse-discharge protection circuit eliminates the need for an external isolation diode. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charging current to limit the die temperature under high-power operation or high ambient temperature conditions.

The HX4054A has a charge termination voltage of 4.2V, and the charging current can be set via an external resistor. When the charging current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value, the HX4054A automatically terminates the charging process.

When the input voltage is removed, the HX4054A automatically enters a low-current standby state, reducing the standby current to below 1µA. The HX4054A can also be placed in shutdown mode while input power is present, reducing the operating current to 30µA.
