Introduction
The LM35 series are precision integrated-circuit temperature devices whose output voltage is linearly proportional to the Celsius temperature. Compared to linear temperature sensors calibrated in Kelvin, the LM35 devices offer the advantage that users can conveniently achieve Celsius-scale readings without subtracting a large constant voltage from the output. LM35 devices require no external calibration or trimming, providing a typical accuracy of ±¼°C at room temperature and ±¾°C over the full −55°C to +150°C temperature range. Wafer-level trimming and calibration ensure lower cost. The low output impedance, linear output, and precise inherent calibration of LM35 devices make interfacing to readout or control circuitry straightforward. The device can operate from single or dual supplies. Drawing only 60μA from the supply, LM35 devices exhibit an extremely low self-heating of less than 0.1°C in still air. The LM35 device is rated to operate over a −55°C to 150°C temperature range, while the LM35C device is rated for a −40°C to 110°C range (with improved accuracy at −10°C).
Features
- Calibrated directly in Celsius (Centigrade)
- Linear +10mV/°C scale factor
- 0.5°C ensured accuracy (at 20°C)
- Rated temperature range: -55°C to 150°C
- Suitable for remote applications
- Wafer-level trimming for low cost
- Operating voltage range: 4V to 30V
