Introduction
The TLIN1029-Q1 is a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) physical layer transceiver with integrated wake-up and protection features, compliant with LIN 2.0, LIN 2.1, LIN 2.2, LIN 2.2A, and ISO/DIS 17987–4.2 standards. LIN is a single-wire bidirectional bus commonly used in low-speed in-vehicle networks, with a data transfer rate of up to 20 kbps. The TLIN1029-Q1 is designed for applications supporting 12 V voltage, featuring a wider operating voltage range and additional bus fault protection. The LIN receiver supports in-line programming applications with a data transfer rate of up to 100 kbps.
The TLIN1029-Q1 uses a current-limiting waveform shaping driver that reduces electromagnetic emissions (EME) to convert the LIN protocol data stream on the TXD input into a LIN bus signal. The receiver converts the data stream into a logic-level signal, which is sent to the microprocessor through the open-drain RXD pin. The sleep mode enables ultra-low current consumption and allows wake-up via the LIN bus or a pin. The integrated resistors, ESD, and fault protection functions help designers save board space in applications.
