Time Constant Calculator
The Time Constant Calculator, denoted by τ or tau, is how long it takes for a capacitor to charge to 63% of its full charge. This time, in seconds (s), is found by multiplying the resistance (R) in ohms (Ω) and the capacitance (C) in microfarads (μF). This calculator is also designed to compute the value of the energy (E, in Joules), stored in a capacitor by using the value of capacitance and voltage (V).
